Former Prisoners

Ok this is a serious study and result...but the lead in sentence cracked me up:

Former prison inmates have a high risk of dying after being released from prison, a study shows.

Why? Because as far as I can tell there are three ways to get out of prison: escape, die in prison, or be released. The one thing in common for all three: every single one of those people die...eventually. I felt like I was reading a Reader's Digest church bulletin blooper.
