Prescott to make streets 'women friendly' - Newspaper Edition - Times Online

Prescott to make streets 'women friendly' - Newspaper Edition - Times Online: "BRITAIN’S streets are set to be made more “female friendly” as part of plans by John Prescott’s department to civilise city centres. Ideas being considered include crches in nightclubs, separate areas for women on trains and buses and hairdryers in public conveniences."

Wait just a red hot minute. Creches (that would be daycare sorts of things) in nightclubs? Hair Dryers? These are good ideas to make streets women friendly?

ARGH!

I've always been troubled by daycare in bowling alleys - having it in bars would drive me insane.

It drives me crazy that a lot of the women-targeted computer bags are pink. I'm a 36 yr. old woman - I don't want to carry around a PINK LAPTOP BAG! Jackie finally found one that was black, which is much more professional looking.

A daycare in a bar? Hmm.. some things just don't go together!

Yes, well the whole daycare in the nightclub thing was weird. (and I thought about saying something about the kind of folk that might attract but that seems rather snarky of me)

The whole laptop purse thing was troubling to me before they made pink ones. I think my next one I will just get the wanna be designer kid to make me something goth and scarey.
